The Knights and the Kings will go up against each other in the Eliminator to decide which team faces Central Districts in the final of the competition. Central Districts already qualified for the final by finishing on top of the six-team league.

Northern Knights won four and lost three matches in the league stage while three of their games were washed out. They finished behind only the leaders Central Districts in the points table. Their batting will once again be led by their top scorer of the tournament Katene Clark who is also the only centurion of the season. They will hope for veteran Neil Wagner to create some magic with the ball.

Canterbury Kings won four and lost five matches in the league stage with one of their game producing no result. They were tied on 18 points with three points but thanks to their thumping 56-run victory in their last league game, they managed to secure the third place and thus the qualification.

Their one down batter Matthew Boyle is also the top scorer of the tournament. The Kings have a lot of star power in both batting and bowling departments. Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell HayMatt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Ish Sodhi and William ORourke are all in their squad to give them an edge.

Both teams beat each other once in the two times they faced each other in the league stage.
