MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) aims to complete its Greenways Projectlodi casino, a series of elevated walkways designed to improve pedestrian mobility and reduce road congestion, by 2027.
DOTr Undersecretary Jesus Ferdinand Ortega said the project will be implemented in key locations along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa), including Balintawak, Cubao, Guadalupe, and Taft.
“We call these walkways the Greenways Project and they will be in Balintawak, Cubao, Guadalupe, and Taft – these are all in Edsa,” Ortega said in an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon on Wednesday.
Compared to its peers in the Asia-Pacific, the country placed 13th out of 14, just ahead of Mongolia, which in turn ranked the lowest globally.

“So from one area to another, they don’t have to go down. For example, if they’re transferring from LRT-1 to another line, they won’t have to go down to the street—they can go directly to the buildings,” he added.
