The third edition of Women's Premier League brings up another set of highly talented young players who are ready to relish the spotlight in the biggest domestic competition for women in cricket world. (More Cricket News)

The WPL 2025 will give platform to some of the best young talent in the country to show their skills. A lot of young players are waiting for the league which gives them an opportunity to become household names in just one night.

These two teams are meeting for the first time in the tournament in group stage.

Below is a list of five cricketers who have a good chance of impressing fans with their performances.

Niki Prasad

The captain of the Women's U-19 T20 World Cup winning Indian side, Niki Prasad is with Delhi Capitals in her debut WPL season. She got just two innings to bat in the U-19 World Cup but her leadership qualities stood out. While Prasad may not start for the Capitals right away, she has the ability to stand out with the bat when the moment arises. High on confidence, Prasad can have a breakthrough season right in her first year.

Nandini Kashyap

A wicket-keeper batter from Uttarakhand, Nandini Kashyap is likely to start for Delhi Capitals given her incredible run of form in the domestic season. She was the third highest scorer in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy 2024 and the top run getter in the Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy 2024. Even in List A games, Kashyap continued to shine. And she did this all at a healthy strike rate. A big season at the WPL level seems the most likely next step for Kashyap.

Uma Chhetry

The only player to score a hundred 2024 Senior Women's Challenger Trophy, Uma Chhetry will like to continue her good form in the WPL as well. No one in the tournament scored more runs than Uma Chhetry at a better strike rate. Picked by UP Warriorz, Chhetry is likely to get a start as well. Chhetry who also keeps wickets, will try to hit big in the WPL too.

G Kamalini

India's second highest scorer in their recent U-19 T20 World Cup-winning campaign, G Kamalini had triggered a bidding war at the auction. Ultimately, she was signed for Rs 1.9 cr by Mumbai Indians. Again, she might not start right away but there is a lot of potential in this young all-rounder. She could, with time, emerge as a big match winner and this season could be the start of her journey.

Kashvee Gautam
